正式終結 11 年歷史
Google 於 2013 年推出 Chromecast，讓用戶能將手機或其他裝置的畫面投射至大螢幕，成為市場上相當受歡迎的串流裝置。然而隨著 Google TV Streamer 4K 在去年正式登場後，Google 便逐步淡出 Chromecast 產品線，並持續銷售庫存。近日，Google 已正式將 Chromecast with Google TV 4K 及 HD 版本從其移除，象徵這款串流媒體播放器正式退出市場。
即使 Google 官方商店已不再販售 Chromecast，但部分第三方零售商如 Best Buy 或 Amazon 仍可能有少量庫存，不久後將全面售罄。
現有用戶仍會獲得更新
Google 確認 Chromecast with Google TV 仍會獲得 Android 14 更新，但未來的支援狀況並不明朗。目前 Chromecast with Google TV 4K 版本預計會持續獲得安全更新至 2025 年 9 月，而 Chromecast HD 版本的更新支援則同樣維持至 2025 年。隨著搭載 MediaTek 處理器、4GB 記憶體，並支援 Thread 網路技術的新一代產品推出，Google 最終決定將舊款 Chromecast 產品線終結。
